A Community Member Needs Our Help

Three family members were ordered removed on February 10 when they failed to attend a hearing in immigration court (about which they didn't receive notice). One member of the family ( the husband) went to a scheduled ICE check-in on March 3 having no idea they had been ordered removed. At that point he was detained by ICE. The family experienced persecution in Congo based on this gentleman's political opinion. His lawyer think they have a fairly good case for asylum.

Now a mother and her two young children are alone and afraid they too will be detained by ICE. 

I have spoken with Papy who is also trying to help support family along with Pastor William. They have help arrange the lawyer. The gentleman has sold his car to pay for portion of the lawyer. Presente Maine who is willing to contribute $250.00 and I will apply for other money through local church program. 

The money will go toward $1000.00 already owed to lawyer and a sum between $1,500-5,000 to be released from ICE custody. If for any reason there is money remaining in the go fund account I will donate it back to Presente Maine to go toward helping their wonderful work.
