We are raising funds because our mother is in need of a new car! Her current mode of transportation has over 270,000 miles and uses more oil than gas. :) It is not safe for her to drive in the winter, not only because it is only a 2-wheel drive, but also because it could break down at any moment. We worry that she could be stranded on the side of the road, out in the cold and snow, all alone.
We have pooled our resources and found that we don't have enough to purchase a vehicle that meets all the attributes for safety and functionality that we'd like for her to have in a car. We need your help!
We would like to purchase her a rig that is new enough to be dependable, has 4-wheel drive, and doesn't require her to crouch down in order to get into it.
It would be really great if we could have the car for her before the snow flies (which we are all praying is soon!). It would be such a relief for her (and us) to know she is taken care of and prepared for winter!
She does not know that we are scheming to get her a vehicle, so PLEASE do not mention it to her! If you share on Facebook, please do so in a way that she will not see it! (Creating a private event or only sharing with specific friends does the trick.)
