A 26yr old fighting for her life in ICU
My name is Kagendo, I work for Cambridge University Press based in the UK. Together with my cousin, Ruth Masha, we’re helping fund raise for Christina who has been taking care of my dad round the clock until she suddenly fell ill.
Christina has been in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for more than a month now. She was previously fit and healthy with no prior medical problems until her sudden illness. In a span of a few hours Christina’s health deteriorated. She developed diabetic ketoacidosis and was diagnosed with diabetes for the first time. Unfortunately, despite the initial medical treatment, Christina's condition continued to worsen leading to her ICU admission. Christina remains in a Coma in the ICU unit where her medical team are continuing further investigations.
Christina is loved by many, always a hard worker and a light to the world. She was due to graduate this year as a Clinical Officer but her final months of studies were disrupted by the Covid crisis. Christina wanted to put her skills into use and started taking care of the sick. Her last patient, who she’s cared for 24hrs of the day since June and until her illness, was my dad. Christina is a kind, caring and loving person, who has dedicated her time to help others. That's why we’ve started this campaign to help raise funds to support Christina’s ever increasing hospital bills.
Unlike the care we receive here in the UK via the NHS, Christina's family are left facing a very large medical fees in order for her to continue receiving ICU and medical treatment in a Kenyan hospital.
Thank you so much for your support. Your donation to support Christina as she bravely fights on will be hugely appreciated.
