Merle's New Service Dog

We are helping our friend Merle raise funds to purchase and have trained a new service dog named Ziva. Merle is wheelchair bound, with very limited use of her arms and legs as a result of a car accident that left her with a spinal cord injury over 33 years ago. Her past two service dogs, Radar and Miller, have provided vital physical and emotional support to Merle for more than 24 years.
Merle is a kind and compassionate person who loves helping others. As a single woman, she seeks out opportunities for socialization for both herself and her dog. Together they make weekly visits to patients in nursing homes and the hospital, bringing comfort and joy to others in need. They also visit local elementary schools, where they help children learn about people with disabilities in a safe and comfortable environment.
Ziva is a sweet and lively golden retriever who is being specially trained to assist Merle. Monies raised will be used towards the purchase of Ziva, 18 months of professional training as well as boarding, food, shots and other up keep as needed.
