Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church is commissioned by Apostle Charles Hawkins & led by Senior Pastor, Dr. Betty Hawkins, with the mission to build an army of believers that know the name of Jesus really works.
1413 E. Chestnut Avenue was previously established for many years as the Chestnut Assembly of God. Apostle Charles Hawkins obtained the building in 1993 and it became the home of Voice of Deliverance New Covenant church. It is with great sadness to inform you that our church was tragically incinerated during a fire on Monday, August 7th, 2023.
We would like to publicly thank the first responders, police officers, fire fighters & all personnel from neighboring cities who swiftly responded to the crisis. We are grateful to God for all of their bravery and strength as they tirelessly fought this fire. We continue to lift them up in prayer as they continue to investigate the cause of this fire.
We also would like to thank the owners of the Pizza Hut at 301 S Main Rd. We were standing in the parking lot, drenched by the pouring rain as we watched the fire blaze. They voluntarily left the comfort of their homes to come unlock their building to provide us shelter and a comfortable place for VOD members to gather throughout the entire night.
We have received an outpour of calls & messages from other churches in the City of Vineland graciously extending use of their facilities to us. We are overwhelmed by the amount of love & support we have received from our community & social media. We thank you for being examples of God’s love.
Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church was a place where people of all nations, races & ages were welcome. It was a place for people to come to find help, love, fellowship, & laughter. Most importantly, it was a house of God centered on praise, worship & teaching the powerful word of God.
Although we mourn the loss of our building, we stand firm on Christ who is our firm foundation. We have unwavering faith in God & know thank him for bringing him through this victorious.
Many members of the community have asked how they can be of assistance during this time. We have set up a GoFundMe for all donations. Please note that this is our only GoFundMe page and any other links are not affiliated with our church. We will continue to have our church services at whatever location God opens a door for us at. Our Facebook page will have the most up to date information on service & event locations. We thank you all for your continuous support during this time.
