Sarah and Jacob famously made the promise to start having kids before Jacob turned 30. If he had his way they would have started trying a lot sooner! Like right after the wedding sooner. Sarah got Jacob to agree to the 30th birthday deal. They began planning their life plans and goals around that date. Now, almost two years later, their dreams for a baby still haven’t come true.
The journey for a “Baby Upshaw” has come a long way. After the first year passed, they decided to see a fertility specialist. After many many tests, awkward exams, lots of time spent waiting on results, those results coming back “indeterminate”, difficult conversations with God, heartbreaking answers, x-rays of almost everything and more blood work than Jacob could ever stand they finally found out why. Why they weren’t getting pregnant.
In November 2014, Jacob was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. A very rare version of Cystic Fibrosis that is not life-threatening or life shortening. Which sucks all in and of itself. But what it ultimately means is that they will not be able to have children naturally, the good ole fashioned way. Their only option to produce their own little mini Upshaw/Sharp baby will be to do In Vitro Fertilization (IVF.) IVF is not cheap and unfortunately their insurance doesn’t cover the procedure.
They come before you now to humbly ask for your help. In times like these, it seems selfish to ask anyone for any type of financial support. But it would mean so much to them if you could contribute to this account. Every penny you give will go towards an IVF procedure for Jacob and Sarah. They don’t take this lightly and they don’t ask this easily. They know you’ve worked hard for every dollar you’ve made. But they’re asking if any family or friend would be willing to donate money to their IVF procedure.
From the bottom of their hearts Sarah and Jacob thank you. And they hope one day when you get to see the smile of “Baby Upshaw” you’ll know you helped make that happen. And for that, they can’t thank you enough.
