UC Davis Women's Club Basketball is a student recreation organization joining girls together for one common goal: to bond through our passion for the game and participate in more competitive basketball.
Here is a little background info about our team.
Women's Club Basketball at UC Davis was founded in 2012 by former UCSD Club Basketball coaches/players. We practice every weekend as well as spend time off the court fundraising, spreading awareness, team bonding, etc. As a student run organization, we fund our own expenses for each season.
We compete against club teams throughout California and participate in the NIRSA Regional Basketball Championship each year, which gives us the opportunity to compete against schools from the entire West Region ( University of Arizona, ASU, Hawaii, LMU, Denver, CSU Northridge, USC, etc.). The champion of the Regional tourney then represents the West Region at the NIRSA National Championship in North Carolina. This experience is something we strive for each year and we are getting closer and closer as we expand.
In 2012, our first appearance at the NIRSA Regional tournament, we placed 3rd. The following year we took 2nd!
As our 3rd season kicks off, we are excited to start playing! We have a committed and hard working group of girls that are ready to represent UC Davis on and off the court.
We have come a long way since we started in 2012 and are looking forward to watching our club grow even more!
Our team is working very hard to prepare for this season. If you can offer any support at all, it would be greatly appreciated. :)
