Tim Smith Hurricane Irma Fund

On September 10, Hurricane Irma made landfall at Marco Island, Florida just north of Everglades City. Everglades City has seen its share of hurricanes over the years and in fact withstood the relentless winds of the mega storm surprisingly well.  However, the storm surge and torrential rainfall decimated the small coastal town that sits barely above sea level.  One of the many victims of the flooding was Tim Smith.  Tim’s residence that he shares with his wife, Jeanie and father-in-law, Robert, was inundated by the sea water destroying nearly all their possessions. 

Tim is presently back in Everglades City working to clean debris and beginning the long process of starting over.  They have set up temporary residence with their son, Timothy whose residence was not destroyed by the storm.  They have been instructed that power will likely not be restored until sometime in October.  Currently, they have to travel 150 miles round trip for basic supplies making everyday life difficult at best.

Those of you that know Tim, know that he is the first to step up and provide help when help is needed but will be the last to ask for help for himself. I am proud to call Tim a co-worker, friend, and brother for the past 15 years, so I am asking for help for him.  I see an opportunity to repay for all that I have witnessed Tim paying forward over the years.  There is no shortage of need right now but any assistance that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. 

I will personally combine all contributions and they will be delivered to Tim to assist his family with basic needs as they move forward.
