The goal amount is not important to us, we're just thankful for all the help.

Bentley's story: He and his brother, Brayden Isiah, were born on Oct. 28,2013. They were only 23 weeks when they came into this world at 10:00 pm. We were told that the wouldn't survive 2 hours after birth, but they had a different plan in mind. Our little boys wanted to fight. They were in very critical condition and it was so hard seeing them hooked up to all the machines. They both had bleeds in their brains, but they told us that was kind of normal for babies as small as them because their blood vessels weren't developed enough. On Oct. 30, we got a phone call that we need to come to the NICU as soon as possible. When we got there they told us that Brayden was getting worse and asked us to sign a DNR,which might be the hardest thing we have ever had to do. After we signed the papers we went back to our room to wait for the results of his chest scan. Once the results were back the doctor and two nurses came to our room. They told us that his chest X-ray was horrible and that it was in his best interest that we let his pass peacefully. We agreed and they unplugged all his machines and sedated him so he wouldn't be in distress. They set up a private room for us so that we could spend time with him. We held him in our arms as he took his last breathe and went to get his wings. That day Bentley got a guardian angel.
Bentley was still very critical but he was hanging in there and fighting. With each day that passes he gets bigger and stronger. He still has his bleeds(grade 4 on the left side and grade 2/3 on the right) but as of right now they are stable. He is off of his dopamine and insulin. He has a small PDA,which we thought he may need surgery for, but thankfully the medicine is working to close it. His doctor told us that there is a chance he may need a shunt in his brain later down the road, but there is also a chance the bleeding will go away on its own. Right now our precious baby boy weighs 1lb and 14oz. He is up to 13ccs of milk and they are adding calories to it to help him gain weight. Doesn't seem like much, but its a huge accomplishment.

We're so thankful for each and everyone that helps us. You truly don't know how much it means to us.
