Our 16 year old son suffers from a devastating neurological disease called Friedreich' Ataxia. He has endured extensive spinal surgery and has been robbed his his ability to run, play ball or get around much without his wheelchair. The disease affects his heart function and eventually his speech, hearing and more. The Friedreich's Ataxia research alliance is doing amazing things and working towards a cure, but it is expensive!
Alyx's true love is baseball. He wants to play again so badly.
We want to do our part as a family to find a cur so Alyx can, someday, play ball again.
We are riding for a cure in Philadelphia for Team Alyx and all the others battling this disease. In order for Alyx to join the fight, he needs a special trike. The purpose of this page is to raise funds for that trike and our first donation at the ride.
As a family, we aren't good at asking for help but we need to make this happen. Please consider helping. Give what you can. Every dollar is a step towards our goal and a step towards a cure.
