Hello, my name is Hayley. I’m a resident of Santa Monica and like all of us living through this unprecedented time of crisis, I am heart sore for the small businesses in our community that are deeply affected by this global pandemic.
One of those is my favorite neighborhood restaurant, Tar & Roses – T&R as we like to call it. tarandroses.com
For over 8 years I have been fortunate enough to call T&R my kitchen away from home.
Andrew Kirschner, Chef/Owner and his business partner/GM, Johnnie Jenkins, have created this warm, inviting place to dine. BUT, they don’t do it alone! THEIR STAFF - many of whom I have known since I first started going there - ARE THE BACKBONE OF THIS RESTAURANT. The hosts, the stellar service from waitstaff, the bartenders, the bussers, and food runners all make sure that our experience is nothing short of amazing! Behind the scenes is equally impressive - the Sous Chef, the line cooks, the prep cooks and the dishwashers all work tirelessly to ensure that our night out is flawless! I know you know what I’m talking about!
Now, through no fault of their own, they are jobless! Andrew and Johnnie created a family of co-workers that has made their work all about serving us. Together, NOW LET’S MAKE IT ABOUT THEM!
I have been on the receiving end of an act of kindness and it changed my life. That is why I am helping to organize this Fund Drive. Knowing that people care in a time of unrelenting stress, goes a long way to feeling safe and protected. The staff mean the world to Andrew and Johnnie and so I am asking you – at the same time recognizing that you may already be donating generously to a cause - to join me in giving what you can…big, small or in between.
COLLECTIVELY, we can make a huge difference in the lives of 45 people and their families.
