Rebuilding After the Fire
Tina and her brother Tim were awaken to an eerie, blood red colored moon.... Sunday Just Past Midnight October 9, 2017
I asked Tina to try and explain what they experienced....
"Woke up struggling for air....

The falling embers and the growling, thunderous inferno roar of exploding trees, gas tanks and transformers coupled with the bright orange glow coming over the near northern hills compelled me to get back on the phone to my nearest, dearest 80 year old neighbor and command her to leave this very minute.
I saw the house across from me catch fire and the roar of the flames was suddenly upon us. I knew in that split second, that packing only an overnight bag was a dismal mistake that I may regret for the rest of my life. I wasn’t coming back to my home tomorrow. In reality, I would never see my childhood home ever again.
All the neighbors were leaving at the same time and if I couldn’t follow the taillights in front of me, I may have driven off into the creek the smoke was so dense.
From the vantage point of a tall hill 2 miles up the road, Tim and I stopped and watched the flames come over the hill toward us filling me with a finality that took yet another day to accept once I saw the photo's of my home posted below.

Tim lost all his tools, a 30 year collection, about $50k worth and he has already received calls from two different neighbors wanting to book him to rebuild their houses right in the neighborhood.
Tim lost his work truck, and Tina's diesel Merzedez, both of their sources of transportation are gone. As well as their 3 outdoor cats, who have yet to be found after the fire.
My father built our home in 1960 and I literally just finished a $10k probate putting the title in our names. (May I also note here this home has burnt down years ago, and Tina's father rebuilt the home, board by board)
I lost all my paintings and a mass amount of painting supplies. I don't even have a paint brush.
They had just started raising money to start paying insurance on the home, so unfortunately they will not be reimbursed for the damage. All of Tina's gardens and a large source of their food is also gone.

Tina's art is a big source of her income (the painting above is an example of her beautiful talent). She lost every painting, every paint brush, and a lifes worth of art supplies that most of you know is just about irreplaceable, but I'd sure like to help her try and get back on her feet.
Tina has been one of my greatest roll models, she truly changed my life. She taught me about Permaculture, we worked on cob and straw bale homes together. She gave me view in to a life living with the Earth and nature and is one of the most genuine souls I'll ever know. She gives so much to others, has spent much of her life helping and teaching troubled youth from the east to the west coast. She lives a simple life, gives so much more back to this planet than she will ever take, and has a smile that lights up anyone's spirits. I will never forget staying in her yurt in the mountains of Northern California and tending her gardens and watching her sweet dog Buddy, we miss home so, Buddy who was Tina's dear companion passed away earlier this year, needless to say she is in need of hugs and light! Everything smells good and everything looks brighter when you are around Tina. We call her Treesong. And my heart breaks for what she and her brother are going through.
I know there are so many hurting with these fires, and still the flames rage and people are still being evacuated, there are so many places to give... But I wanted to reach out for my dear friend. Thank you for your time, blessings and love... And for all others touched by the fires and disasters this year, may you come back strong, and may our Earth forgive us for being so hard on her....
People like Treesong and her brother truly are the ones that will help her heal, they just need some means to get there <3

I know Tina Freiumuth from working together on a few different farm/properties years back in Oregon...we subsequently became dear friends, and have stayed so for the last 10 years or so.
The funds raised here will be spent by Tina and her brother to replace things destroyed in the fire, such as tools, toiletries, clothes, food, shelter, temporary vehicle or transportation needs, anything you could possibly think of when you lose everything but the clothes you are wearing.
