Nepal Earthquake Survivors(Aussie)

We are all aware that on Saturday the 24th of April 2015, Nepal was ravaged by a  7.9   magnitude earthquake. This calamity has claimed thousands of lives and injured many more. More than eight million men, women, youth and children from all walks of life have been displaced from their homes and their lives have been disrupted. They have been traumatized physically and mentally to witness their loved ones being injured, buried alive beneath the rubbles of what was once their home and death. Furthermore, the aftermath of the quake is slowly creeping into existence as seen by the rising scarcity of food and water supplies, dwindling medical resources, pollution and sanitary issues despite an overwhelming international response to aid Nepal.

Hospitals, doctors, nurses and volunteers have been working non-stop with makeshift theatres for surgery and clinics that has spilled out onto devastated streets. Authorities report that there are more than a million Nepalese children in dire need of medical assistance at the moment. Just recently, a four month old baby was pulled out from underneath rubbles, alive, giving hope for the whole nation.

B and B Hospital and HRDC (Hospital and rehabilitation centre for disabled children) are, amongst many other hospitals, sharing the burden of treating the ever increasing patient load amidst fading medical supplies. HRDC, run by Dr. Ashok Banskota who recently won the World Children Award, has been serving under privileged disabled children for almost three decades. Hence, it has been and will continue to face an insurmountable load of injured plus disabled children requiring urgent help. However we require funding and medical supplies. Your help, no matter how small, will be a blessing for them, a ray of hope and a way to love them in this hour of need.
