Support Striking Hotel Workers in Vancouver, BC

Room attendants, chefs, front desk agents and other staff at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia are off the job and in an ongoing strike. The hotel has failed to address workload, safety, and job security issues. The workers have now been on strike for over 30 days, and without a contract for nearly a year. Hotel Georgia employees are united for better quality jobs and an improved quality of life. They continue to strike for a contract which matches the five-star service they provide on a daily basis to Hotel Georgia’s clientele. On the first of each month, the donations will be withdrawn by a UNITE HERE Local 40 staff member (to Sharan Pawa's personal bank account) who will then transfer the donations into the savings account of the Union. The donations will be added to our Strike Fund, and will be distributed between our members currently on strike at the Hotel Georgia and our members who just ended their strikes at the Westin Bayshore, Pinnacle Harbourfront, and Hyatt Regency hotels.
