Support 100 kids rainy day needs
Donation protected
Our whole family is going to Manila on vacation this year, and we thought of doing a fund raising drive to make our vacation more worthwhile.
Through our partnership with "Welcome House*" Organization, we are rolling our sleeves and doing a small fund raising drive to help the less fortunate families in the Philippines survive the harsh rainy season.
*"Welcome House" is an organization who supports two groups
(1) battered wife get back to their normal life
(2) less fortunate kids stay in school.
*"Welcome House" is one of the communities of Good Shepherd Sisters - http://www.goodshepherdsisters.org.ph which traditionally and currently is particularly focused with women and children who have been wounded by life's circumstances and live on the edge of society.
We are going to help families of "100 batang riles**" by buying, packing, and donating rainy day items to keep the little kids warm and dry during the awful rainy season - such as rain boots, umbrellas, towels, OFF mosquito repellent, medicine and other rainy day essentials so that they will be able to walk to and from their school while staying healthy and hygienic. The kids do not have a car, nor the means to take a public transport. Their only way to go to school is by foot.
**"Batang riles" means kids residing along the railroad track
No amount is too big or too small. Every penny you donate will go a long way, and will be a step nearer in achieving our goal.
Sidenote: For those who have paypal, you can also send it to [email redacted], THANKS!
Last day of donation: August 10, 2013 Saturday
Event date and place: August 17 Satuday @ WELCOME HOUSE Manila, Philippines
Special shout out to my sister IMELDA and brother JOHNSON who is helping us all the way to make this a success!
