St Patrick's Church for women and elderly in need

Each year in December, the St Patrick s American Community in Rome comes together to host the St Nicholas Serata for Charity, a special evening dedicated to raising funds to help some of the neediest populations of Rome. This year's proceeds will go to Associazione Differenza Donna (Women and girls against violence), which prevents and fights gender-based violence, and to Associazione ORMA, which provides support in the healthcare sector in its various forms: training, prevention, services.

Our selected projects aim, in the first case, to help women (including migrants) coming out of violence or dealing with other difficult situations and, in the second case, to take care of the elderly with a program set up for the residents of the Centro Anziani in Prima Porta with medical screening for cardiological and arterial pressure needs.

Finally there is a third project, in preparation for the 2025 Holy Year, to make St. Patrick’s Church more welcoming to pilgrims and tourists. We especially need a Jubilee Hospitality Room for their comfort as well as to offer opportunities in the Church itself. This would especially include handicap accessible restrooms.
