Yosemite Trip for Underprivileged Youth
Donation protected
Smythe Academy Junior High School in Sacramento, CA is providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for 14 fortunate youngsters to spend 5 days exploring the wonders of Yosemite National Park this Spring.
These students, many of whom come from at-risk communities, include both high achievers and those with special needs - none of whom have ever experienced an outdoor adventure such as this. Through experiential learning, physical challenges and team-building exercises, it is hoped that these teens will become engaged and confident learners, supportive classmates and active stewards of our natural world.
While these selected students are expected to raise a substantial portion of the Yosemite trip funds through school fundraisers, most cannot afford to attend without significant additional financial assistance. Your help in providing the necessary funds will ensure that these fortunate fourteen will experience a life-affirming adventure that they will never forget.
