Support little Bean (and his family)

Baby Bean was born with gastroschisis and is currently in the NICU at Children's Hospital Colorado suffering from related complications. Bean's mom, dad, and 3 siblings have had to move from their home to be close to him and are struggling financially.

Hi, I'm Bean's dad, Fluffy. I am a disabled veteran supporting a family of 6 on a very limited income and I'm trying to raise money for Bean and our family during these incredibly hard times. Bean was born with Gastroschisis (his bowels were on the outside of his body) and is having a difficult recovery due to complications related to this condition

We have been struggling financially for a long time and now I am stuck alone in Denver with my newborn son who is in the NICU. We are separated hundreds of miles from the rest of our family. We came to the Children's Hospital Colorado via careflight because little "Bean"(Balbino) needed another emergency gastrointestinal surgery. Unfortunately the only pediatric surgeon in our hometown was out of town when this emergency occurred. We are stuck here in Denver until he is fully recovered. His mother, Ana, is stuck back at home, worried sick, taking care of Bean's identical twin brother, Mango, and two big sisters, Ivy and Esmeralda. We hope to raise enough money to bring them to denver so that we can all be together during these hard times.
Ana had to stop working when she became pregnant with our twins, Bean and Mango, because of how difficult the pregnancy was. This was unavoidable and added to our financial struggles. She is now suffering from severe postpartum depression on top of all our other current problems.
Early on in the pregnancy, Bean was diagnosed with gastroschisis. His bowels had begun to form on the outside of his abdomen. Because of complications, Ana was hospitalized at about 30 weeks pregnant so that they could closely monitor Bean. At about 32 weeks gestation, the doctors were forced to perform a c-section surgery and the boys were born 4 minutes apart on August 26th. Bean was born with all of his intestines and his colon on the outside of his body. The boys  were admitted into the NICU where Mango stayed for a few weeks and Bean stayed for over a month. About a week after we brought Bean home from the hospital, he began pooping blood so we took him straight to the ER where it was determined that he needed a blood transfusion and to be flown to denver for emergency surgery on his intestines. Unfortunately a storm was rolling in so they had to take a risk and postpone his blood transfusion until we arrived at CHC in denver so that we could reach our destination safely. We made it to Denver safely, he got a  blood transfusion,  and the surgery was successful. We are currently still waiting on his intestines to heal at the Children's Hospital Colorado.

You can follow along in his recovery on tiktok @smirozzy where I upload videos of Bean and his family. We livestream occasionally as well.

Things were hard before all this... and now even harder.. Please help support us!

Funds raised will go directly toward supporting our family and covering any unforseen medical costs that aren't covered by medicaid. After our medical and survival needs are met, any money left over will go towards improving quality of life for our 4 kids.

Friends and family have done what they can to help but any additional help would be truely appreciated and is much needed.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Here are some pics of our family from the birth of our twins, their time in the NICU, their short time together at home, and on up until we flew to Denver.
