Shelter Danny's Family

What if when you were born your brain didn't get enough oxygen and suffered damage. When you went to school you couldn't learn the basics.  That's what happened to my brother Danny.  He grew up, married a woman with Asperger's and had a child. He  worked doing manual labor, sometimes two or three jobs, to support his family.

Danny has done remarkable given the hand he was dealt. Even without  being able to read, write, or do math he has found work that allows him to live independently and provide for his family. 

They live in a two bedroom apartment that takes 70% of his social security check. If he quits his dishwasher job they have to live on four hundred dollars a month. 

In their state, Danny's social security payment is $100.00  over the limit to receive any additional support. They don't qualify for food stamps or any other government aid.

After fourty years of back-breaking labor, Danny wants to retire.  If he had housing, he could.

You can change the lives of Danny and his family by helping to get them a modest home.  Without rent, Danny could quit his dishwasher job and live on his social security.
