7/10/17 Update:  First-Ever and now Two-Time US Sight Impaired Surfing Champ Scott Leason never loses sight of his goals!  What is up next?  How about the Duke's Oceanfest in August 2017?  Scott broke ground in 2015 at the 1st Annual ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championships when he surfed against sighted adaptive athletes to get the foot in the door for blind athletes.  The following year, 2016, there was a dedicated Sight Impaired Division and eight countries came to compete.  Now, for the first time, Duke's Oceanfest welcomes Sight Impaired athletes to compete.  Scott Leason and his team: the amazing Chocolate Lab Service Dog, Snickers, trusty friend and volunteer, Randy Rolff, and Coach Pat Weber of the San Diego Surfing Academy need your support.  With your assistance, Team Scott can get to legendary Waikiki and blaze yet another trail that, hopefully, other brave athletes will find the inspiration to follow.  Any little bit helps the cause towards airfare & travel expenses.  We love you and thank you in advance for your generosity!

From 2016:
San Diego Blind Surfer, Scott Leason, the 2016 US Sight Impaired Surf Champ, will be representing Team USA at the 2016 Stance International Surfing Association World Adaptive Games in La Jolla, California, from December 8th to December 11th.  Scott could use your help with entry fee ($225), gas money & training expenses.  Thanks to generous sponsors of this ongoing campaign last year, Scott proudly rides his custom Hank Warner shaped "Stars & Stripes",  9'6" surfboard with artwork by Jeffery Meyer.  Scott did an Ironman this year and recently competed in a national sight impaired wakeboarding and waterski competition taking home two silver medals.  He is training hard with Coach Pat Weber and volunteers from the San Diego Surfing Academy in an effort to take home the Gold from the Worlds!  His chocolate lab, Snickers, thanks you for the kibbles and your support!  https://www.isasurf.org/events/isa-world-adaptive-surfing-championship/
