Saving Blake

The one question I asked our attorney was, If a family member wants to set up an account for us, would this hurt our case? She replied no and make sure to have someone that knows how to write good. Who better to write our story than the person that is fighting and living with this battle everyday. A battle to continue to be the voice of our precious, innocent, Blake Johnson. Saving Blake started the moment we got a phone call that we needed to do something and something fast. We finally took action after hearing the neglect and suffering he was being put under. We took the mother to court and now one year later we are still fighting. We are so thankful that the courts have put Blake in our arms but the fight isnt over. We have to continue to pay for attorney fees, GAL (since Blake is a minor, he has to have an attorney too). Shannon as been working extra hours and I am a stay at home mother to all the children and court ordered to be Blakes caregiver while my husband and his mother is at work, since she does have some visitations. We finally are in the trial stage that will take place in November. Mind you that we are fighting in Blakes home state of MO and fighting for full custody. With every court date, my husband has to take off work, gas money, etc. We also learned that Blake had over $10,000 of dental work that needed to be done due to the neglect while he wasnt in our care. He now has had his surgery in a hospital setting and is one happy, health little boy. When Blake first moved in with us. He wasnt potty trained, could barely say his name the correct way. His speech was horrible. His routine was sad and you could see her parenting through him. When I say it was sad, just typing this breaks my heart on how far he as come since being with us. I am happy to say he is now potty trained, he knows his ABC's, numbers, colors, shapes, writing his name. It is like he is a new kid! Every morning we work with him on achieving new goals. He also is enrolled with school, he loves riding his bus to and from home. He loves his farm animals, his siblings Sissy & Bubby.  We truly feel Blake was placed in our arms by the grace of god and we finally feel complete having our Blake in HIS home and we want this to stay forever. A home he can call his! A bed, his own room, toys, clothes and most importantly love. We also have introduced him to church and learning about his heavenly father which he had no idea who that was. Everynight, we read a book and pray. He finally has everything that any child should have, a life. We continue to be Blakes voice and the fight will not end until the ruling falls in our favor. My family isnt the type to ask for help. My husband is against this but I feel in my heart every bit helps. We are currently selling items to help pay for these high cost of court fees. I am also selling my business to keep my main focus on the children with schooling, sporting events, doc appts, etc. Shannon is also trying to apply for a loan in hopes to take care of some of the fees for our fight. We will find out in the next couple days if that will fall through. Even with that help it wont be enough. We will not stop fighting, we will do our all to never have Blake around that lifestyle again. New update on the lastest of "Pre Trial" that was set on November 29th. We now will have a two day trial that is set in March. This gives us more time to get Saving Blakes story out. Prayers have been heard and Blake continues to stay in our care as father is the soul decision maker and his home is with us, mother does still have visitations. We can not thank you all enough for the continue support, prayers, shares and donations. We will be setting up more events and will keep everyone posted. Our faith is stronger than our fear. Gods plan is better than we have ever imagined and we are counting our blessings as a family. Saving Blake campaign is stronger than ever. We have all the faith in the world that goals will be met, god will continue to listen to all prayers and keep our loving Blake from anymore harm. Thank you all from the bottom of our heart.
