Save my Nose - Reconstruction after AVM

Yael Schwob is our 21 year old daughter. She lives with us and her eleven siblings in Rekhasim, a small outside Haifa, Israel.





Yael was born with an A-V-Malformation, a vascular anomaly, in the center of her face. This condition was a life threatening illness that caused near-fatal bleeding episodes.
We promised Yael that we would do all we could to give her the best treatment available in the world!
We believe that we were faithful to our promise. Since the age of 10, she has gone through more than twenty operations in Israel, Switzerland, France and the United States.
The most skilled specialists in the world have treated Yael. Thank G-D, now she is finally cured.
However, the price was very high. At the age of 12, Yael had her nose completely removed. Since then, she has had to wear a silicone prosthesis in place of her nose.
Yael is a very brave young woman. She has gone through so much suffering her entire life. But her spirits are always high. She works very hard at her studies and, thank G-D, is very successful! She is a talented graphic and computer artist.
We promised her that we will "give her back" her nose as soon as the doctors feel that she is ready for reconstruction.

Reconstruction
Three years ago in 2010, Yael started a series of nasal reconstructive surgery in Chicago by a world-renowned plastic surgeon [who has had over thirty successes]. However, sadly, in Yael's case after two major attempts and after 14 surgeries "“ the surgeon gave up:.

But we did not!
We could not!
With her tremendous courage and determination, she pushed on and we found another very special surgeon, Dr. F. Menick, in Tucson, Arizona - who has started a new series with a better and more careful approach to reconstruct Yael's nose.
Our insurance does not cover the doctors' fees and travel expenses, and we need to raise more than $100,000. to successfully reach our goal "“ a nose for Yael, like mine and yours.
