Saving Leslie's Home
Donación protegida
My goal with this GoFundMe campaign is to avoid homelessness and stay in my home. Please help me through this temporary financial problem.
I need to do one of the following to stop foreclosure: Pay $1500 before the end of June 2017 and then the July payment ($742) on July 1 OR
Make at least one mortgage payment by the end of June ($742) to set up a three month repayment plan that starts in July ($998)
There are no public services or charitites available to me. I fall between demographics that can receive help (my children are grown and I am not 62 yet). My request for your help is my last resort.
I became medically disabled in 2008 and was forced to stop working full time as a RN at that time. Now I live on a fixed Social Security income.
To supplement my income I care for my granddaughters part time. I am actively seeking PT work outside the home during hours that will accommodate my current obligations. I can work 3 days a week without problems and stay within the guidelines to keep my disability. One job I applied for is 8am to 12 pm Monday through Friday, and is within my physical restrictions (have a good thought for me).
Over the past year I experienced three major events that slowed me down. Now fully recovered, I am invested in improving my circumstances and looking for a PT job to cover my living expenses.
September 2016, I developed bilateral pneumonia after a prolonged and severe allergy season. I simply kept pushing through the illness over several months until it overwhelmed me and I was hospitalized at Hillcrest South.
Over the following 3 months I slowly recovered, but my husband left me unexpectedly while I was still bedridden in September.
February 2017, I developed FluB and in less than 48 hours I was near death (Flu, pnemonia, sepsis, organ failure). It was a testiment to the medical staff at St Francis South that I lived and recovered.
It is my hope that someone can help me stay in my home long enough to improve my financial situation. I am a "can do" person, who has been active in community volunteer work even though I have not been "employed" since 2008. I am an active Girl Scout Volunteer, who has completed a number of the Council Training classes including Council Trainer. I have completed a six year commitment to one of our Day Camps. My current role at this camp is Director. I know the PT job I need is just around the corner!
It is very hard to ask for help, and believe me I am humbled. I am a strong lady who doesn't ask for help easily. Please help me out!
Thanks for your consideration,
Leslie Chambliss
