SMU BYX Island Party

SMU’s Beta Upsilon Chi, a nationally recognized Christian fraternity, is hosting its 12th annual Island Party event in April. This is our largest outreach to the SMU campus every year. The mission of Island Party is two-fold: to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and unity within our chapter and to reach out to our fellow SMU students. The central theme of Island Party is to have incredible fun in the sun, without serving alcohol, while providing an alternative to the typical social activities present on a college campus.
Island Party consists of a volleyball tournament open to every student on campus, as well as a dance party the night before. Last year, we had over 500 students attend Island Party over its 2 days, and 28 teams from all over campus-from sorority sisters to RAs and residents to siblings-participated in our tournament, a record for SMU BYX. In addition to giving us an excuse to soak up rays all day, Island Party acts as one of our annual philanthropy events. All funds raised that exceed the cost of the event will go to Neverthirst, a global Christian non-profit organization. Since Island Party requires an extensive amount of planning, we ask that all donations be received by Friday, April 11. Island Party will be held Friday-Saturday, April 24-25, so we must have all donations before that date. The sooner we can raise funds, the sooner we can put together two marvelous, Christ-centered social events for the SMU campus. Thank you so much!
