As many of you may know, the March of Dimes is an organization that raises awareness and funding for an issue that is near and dear to my family, premature childbirth. In April of 2013, my wife Kristina and I, lost our son Nicholas to complications from premature birth. While we unfortuantely lost a child, we did gain an angel. It has become our life mission to carry on our angel's name and to help other families deal with premature childbirth. We have partnered with the March of Dimes to raise funding and awareness to combat the leading cause of infant death worldwide, premature childbirth.
Thankfully as the result of the research from the March of Dimes and the wonderful staff at RUMC, Kristina and I welcomed our beautiful boy William Nicholas D'Angelo into the world this July 9, 2015. Although William was 6 weeks premature, he is now a healthy 3 month old bringing joy to our family every second of every day. I am so grateful for the work of the March of Dimes and my family will be forever grateful for the advancements that are the result of
their tireless research.
On November 2nd, 2015 at 7 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 1100 South Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, the Staten Island chapter of the March of Dimes will be having our annual Gourmet Gala Event.
The Gourmet Gala is a unique philanthropic event created especially for the March of Dimes. The Gourmet Gala transports the restaurant to the reception where Top Chefs reveal their culinary skills in an elegant evening of gourmet food tasting
Entering its 23rd exciting year, this glamorous special event is supported by influential philanthropists throughout the Staten Island community
Since its inception, the event has raised over one million dollars for the March of Dimes to support research and programs aimed at the prevention of premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.
During a stylish cocktail party and reception, Chefs from Staten Island’s finest restaurants are showcased at individual cooking stations as they prepare their specialty gourmet dishes. Guests are invited to sample the cuisine and meet the Chefs. The cocktail party and reception is then followed by light fare, live auctions and the awards ceremony.
