Help SAVE Homeland

Donation protected

Friends and family, as you all know, I truly believe in helping others.  During my recent visit to Nigeria, I met some beautiful people in a small village called Homeland. The people there were so welcoming, I actually felt like I was at home.  I am not joking. While I was there, I had an opportunity to meet several families, eat some good food: and learn more about their way of life.  In addition to, I was also privileged to learn about some challenges they are currently facing.  Hence, I want to help them, but I cannot do this alone.  Therefore, I am reaching out to you.

GENERAL PURPOSE

This fundraiser was developed to assist Homeland with two priority challenges: 1) Basic Needs (i.e. Food, Water, and Toiletries) and 2) Community Development (i.e. Land and Shelter).

THE MISSION

To provide a financial relief and HOPE to Christian Community Leaders Abroad in Homeland, living in poverty, who are dedicated to "Helping Other People Everyday".

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

Homeland Community is the head quarter of Save The Children Campaign, STCC, registered as "Save The Constellation of Children". STCC is a Christian Voluntary organization working in the lives of the Children through prayers and relevant social services.

Founded in 1993, STCC have been in the frontline in advocating and organizing free extra"“curricular activities and programs in and out of schools aimed at building sterling leadership qualities, discovering and developing God given talent, building entrepreneurial skills and the fear of God in the lives of the Children and youths. STCC also act as a Community Base Organization (CBO) in meeting the needs of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC).

STCC Workers and Volunteers live together in Homeland (a village located in Ikot Ekpuk Itam, Itu L.G.A, of Akwa Ibom State) in a community setting sharing virtually everything. STCC Workers do not receive any salary; the community takes care of its people.

THEIR  CHALLENGES

1

There is an urgent financial need in Homeland. Today, the people in Homeland are barely able to eat one meal a day.  As previously mentioned, they serve as Christain volunteers in the community, helping others who are impoverished.  Hence, they need help towards meeting their basic needs (i.e. food, water, and toiletries) so that they may continue to fight against community brokeness and family separation.  HELP KEEP THEM FIT AND HEALTHY to continue God's Mission.

2

Presently, the people in the community are facing eviction charges from the magistrate court.  Although the residing families inherited this land, over 15 years ago, from the late Chief Etim Akpakpan, the then village head of Homeland, one of his children are now seeking land rights.  This new interest in the land (as previously mentioned) is creating undue stress on the families, as their livelihoods are being threatened.  Being in an already impoverished position, these families continue to reach out providing or sharing food, water, toiletries and other resources.  This form of love is practically nonexistent these days, but not in Homeland. In addition to helping others from outside communities through STCC, Homeland's leaders operate a tuition free Nursery/Primary School, annually, for less privileged and needy children in the surrounding area. Their strong leadership and family-oriented presence is needed, but they NEED YOUR HELP to succeed.

Homeland needs financial assistance eat and to acquire a piece of land to build a NEW "Homeland" community, including a school and church. This fundraiser is just the beginning.  No contribution is too small (i.e. $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, etc).  Please let's help these families live strong... stay together... work together!

*** If you make a donation outside of the reward levels, please state which goal you would like your contribution applied.

Additional Information on the School

Homeland's "SAN MIGUEL SCHOOL", is a tuition free Nursery/Primary school for the less privileged/needy children, established in 2001. The school is own by Save The Constellation of Children, a Christian voluntary, non-governmental organization working in the lives of our less privileged children and youths through prayers and relevant social services.

San Miguel School seeks to create a chance for a change through a quality education and equal opportunity to express the God given talent in our children.  At present, the school has one hundred and twenty five (125) pupils, to include students, teachers, and teaching assistants.

Thank you in advance for your contribution!
