Hello friends! The Jensen family have a goal to accomplish but we cannot do it without your help!
We have put together this GoFundMe to help Alfonso Arroyo and his family, who own and operate Rosie’s restaurant located on Taylor Ave. in Racine.
On January 1, 2018, a fire started that destroyed Rosie’s. Luckily the building was covered by insurance so the rebuild began. Alfonso hired a contractor to help his family rebuild their business, but unfortunately the contractor ran off with nearly $80,000. A lawsuit has been filed against the contractor, though the possibility of the Arroyo family receiving their money back is slim. The primary reason for the lawsuit is because Alfonso wants to try and help prevent the contractor from doing the same thing to someone else.
So where does that leave the rebuild of Rosie’s? Well, there is still insurance money available, however those funds are not able to be released until the work that the original funds were allocated to is completed.
Alfonso says, “Rosie’s was more than a restaurant. Our hard working employees and our loyal patrons are what makes Rosie’s so special.” The Arroyo’s have created a community with Rosie’s that goes beyond their family, staff and patrons. Alfonso gives back to his community in any way he can and has often opened the restaurant to provide those in need with a meal.
Alfonso and his family do what they can to help their community thrive.
So here is where we as a community come in. Our goal is to help raise back the money that was stolen from Alfonso and his family so that they can continue to rebuild their family business. Scott Jensen will be donating the labor and materials to complete the plumbing at Rosie’s, and our family will be making a cash donation, but we certainly cannot do it alone. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated. Whether you are able to make a donation or not, we ask that you help spread around this fund raiser so that we can help Alfonso and his family rebuild and get back to doing what they love, feeding their community.
