Rebecca and her kids need their forever home!
In case you don't want to read the whole story, or you know the story, or you like to cut to the chase, here is the request up front!
Rather than ask for your donation, Rebecca would like to offer this: for a contribution of $100 towards the downpayment required for the home she has secured for her family in Roslyn, you will receive a gift certificate for TWO professional 60-minute massages in a luxurious spa atmosphere, including hot towels and aromatherapy, redeemable within one year - from Rebecca, a licensed and experienced massage therapist!! This is a sale, rather than a donation due to sourcing rules for down payments.
If you know Rebecca, she is one hard working mama and will do what it takes to provide a loving stable home for her three children, who have, for the second year in a row, found themselves forced to move from a rental home that has sold! They are currently moving out of a home they were told was not planned to be sold...until it was. But this year the housing crises is even worse than last year with about 1% availability in the county. Unfortunately, that is even more difficult if you are a hardworking mother of three who does not meet qualifications for state subsidy, but still doesn't have the income to pay the going rate for the high rental prices we are seeing in this area. Tough decisions had to be made and before sending the kids to live with their dad on the west side after being Upper County kids their whole lives, she took a chance to see if rather than renting at a super high monthly rate with no guarantee that thehome wouldn't be sold in another year, maybe she could own a home -and she was successful!! She'll be fine for mortgage and maintenance, but this being a surprise allowing for virtually no preparation to save, she needs to fundraise a portion of the down payment. This family was outrageously lucky to find a place they can afford - but without the down payment, it could slip between their fingers.
They are currently moving out of their rental and into a friend's basement to save one month's rent before closing on their house, but they need another $2500 to give these kids a stable home once and for all.
Rebecca has worked tirelessly to become masterful at massage therapy, even commuting quite a while to work long hours in Seattle to make ends meet and care for her family. Rebecca now provides massage therapy at the Suncadia Spa, which keeps her local and available for her kids, who so need their mom.
Here's the plea... Rebecca and the kids need a place to live. They are one last step away from staying together, keeping the kids in school where they are used to being, keeping this family unit in tact, and not living in a basement for the forseeable future!
