Anand Kannan, our friend, has a 5 year old daughter, Anya, who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain tumor, DIPG on September 3rd 2014.
The survival rate is 0%, and the doctors have given her 9-12 months to live.
At this difficult time, the family needs all our prayers and support. We have created this site to help raise funds that can be used to offset many expenses that the family will be incurring.
The family's hope is that they can beat this deadly cancer that has seen 0% survival rate in the past 50 years. They're trying several alternate treatments, most of which are not covered by insurance. When they're done with the fight and hoping Anya survives, they will donate any remaining funds to the DIPG community.
Around 250-300 kids in US every year are diagnosed with DIPG and almost none survived in the past 50 years barring a handful (<10) that have beaten the odds. That makes it ~15,000 kids in 50 years who've been stolen from their parents. Funding for pediatric cancer is terrible. Children can't fight this alone. They need all our support.
