Telecom Pioneers Shoes day
Donation protected
Welcome to the 2017 Telecom Pioneers Shoes drive! If you are visiting for the first time, the Telecom Pioneers are a group of retirees from the original Illinois Bell system. This is an annual campaign to raise money to purchase shoes for underprivaliged children in the Illinois Quad Cities.
On "Shoes" Day, December 1st the children are bussed to Famous Footwear for socks, shoes, scarves, mittens, a gift bag and a visit with Santa. We have been lucky enough to raise funds in past years to serve 330 plus children, which is just a sample number of the children that could be helped. The cost of shoes of course increases every year and the fundraising is always a challenge. This year we are falling short of our goal of the 330 children.
The $7, 000 goal represents a large portion of the overall cost, the average cost for a pair of shoes is $40. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
