Permaculture sustainable food project
Beschermde donatie
Hi friends,
My name is Miguel Antunes and I’m on a mission to turn a dream into reality. I’ve always felt deeply connected to nature—the smell of the earth, the sound of running water, the magic of watching life grow. Now, I want to take that passion and create something that will not only nourish me, but also give back to my community.
Currently, I live in Lisbon, but my heart is set on moving to Covilhã, in central Portugal. My plan is to acquire a neglected piece of land (about 1 hectare) and transform it into a self-sufficient, eco-friendly paradise—a place where the principles of permaculture and organic farming can thrive.
The Vision
I want to restore the soil, remove invasive species, and plant a “food forest”—a living ecosystem of herbs, shrubs, fruit trees, and vegetables that are sustainable, edible, and help restore the natural balance of the land.
Alongside the food forest, I’ll care for laying hens, ducks, geese, and other animals. I’ll also dedicate an area to beekeeping, producing not only honey but also beeswax, soaps, candies, syrups, pollen, and propolis.
Why This Matters
This project is about living sustainably and sharing abundance.
If successful, I’ll be able to:
Eat the food I’ve grown myself
Sell honey, surplus eggs, and other products
Offer free online nutrition guidance to people who need it but can’t afford it
Donate seasonal food baskets to local social projects
Every step of the journey will be documented on YouTube and Instagram, so you can see the transformation with your own eyes.

How You Can Help
Your contribution will go towards:
Land clearing, fencing & access paths
Water system (well/borehole, solar pump, tanks)
Basic solar power system
Vegetable garden & tools
Animal shelters & livestock (hens, ducks, goats)
Apiary (5 hives, beekeeping equipment)
Storage/shelter (container or wooden shed)
Perennial plants (trees, shrubs, nectar plants)
Animal feed, seeds, repairs, hive treatments
This isn’t just about me—it’s about creating a small pocket of hope, sustainability, and community care.
With your help, we can make this green dream come alive.
One day, when the project is thriving, I’ll gladly welcome you to visit and see what we’ve built together.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
