Ayudar a la Nonna Antonietta y a Yelitza Guerra
On June 8th in Caracas, Venezuela, my grandmother Nonna Antonietta (mother of Attilio and Maurizia) and mother-in-law of (Andres and Nunzia) and her faithful companion and caretaker Yelitza Guerra, were both diagnosed with COVID-19. During all this time, they both had at-home treatments which included: blood tests, X-rays, appropriate drug treatment (antiretrovirals, antibiotics, anticoagulants, and more), together with medical assistance and daily nursing and the unconditional support of three brave girls from the Guerra family who have been through the process so that everything went smoothly.
So far all of this has been paid for by our family since neither Nonna Antonietta nor Yelitza has medical insurance. After a notable improvement, with the current events that are happening in Caracas at the moment, the weekly check-up exams were not performed on time, and during that time my Nonna suffered pulmonary thromboembolism that aggravated her condition and, therefore, it was necessary for her urgently go to an intensive care unit at the Atias clinic in Caracas. The costs of this hospitalization are high and beyond our immediate possibilities. Yelitza has been slowly improving but she is still under the post-covid ravages and requires medical attention.
This GoFundMe page was created to help alleviate some of the financial burdens on our family. We want to ask each of you who know her and know us, a little help, whatever it may be so that we can continue helping my Nonna and Yelitza. Thank you so much for all your help and blessings.

En Caracas (Venezuela) el pasado 8 de Junio, mi abuela, la Nonna Antonietta (mama de Attilio y Maurizia) y suegra de (Andres y Nunzia), junto a su fiel acompañante, Yelitza Guerra, fueron diagnosticadas con COVID 19. Durante todo este tiempo, ambas tuvieron tratamiento hospitalario en casa: exámenes sanguíneos, radiográficos, bombonas de oxigeno, concentradores de oxigeno, tratamiento farmacológico apropiado (antirretrovirales, antibióticos, anticoagulantes y más), conjuntamente con asistencia medica y enfermeria diaria y el apoyo incondicional de tres valerosas muchachas de la familia Guerra que han estado apuntalando el proceso para que todo marchara bien. Todo esto hasta ahora ha sido costeado por cuenta de nuestra familia, dado que ni la Nonna Antonietta ni Yelitza cuentan con un seguro medico.
Luego de una notable mejoría, con los eventos ocurridos en Caracas (en la cota 905), los exámenes de chequeo semanal no se realizaron a tiempo, y en ese transcurso la Nonna sufrió un tromboembolismo pulmonar que agravó su estado y, por lo que ha sido necesario ingresarla de urgencia a una unidad de terapia intensiva en la clínica Atias de Caracas. Los costos de esta hospitalizacion son altos y se escapan de nuestras posibilidades inmediatas. Yelitza ha ido mejorando lentamente pero aún se encuentra bajo los estragos post covid, por lo que aún requiere atención médica.
Por todo lo anterior expuesto, queremos pedirles a cada uno de Uds. que la conocen, y nos conocen, una pequeña ayuda, sea cual sea, para que podamos seguir adelante ayudando a la Nonna y a Yelitza. Dios los bendiga y los proteja de esta terrible enfermedad.
