Support Miclan's Montana Adventure

Hello friends, I have a unique opportunity to spend a year working on a reentry project with an interfaith organization in Missoula, MT . I will learn new skills like grant-writing and community organizing, and become familiar with the resources available to those returning from prison. This experience will allow me to support others more effectively, and I’ll work to make helpful information as widely available as possible.

The prison industrial complex tears families and communities apart, but I find it empowering to learn from people who are envisioning creative alternatives to our current system. I am particularly inspired by the incarcerated lgbtq activists who fight for their human rights and dignity, and I hope to advance that cause in a spirit of solidarity with them. 

To get from Michigan to Montana I need to ask for financial assistance. I appreciate anything you can manage, and the money will go toward a U-Haul and the first month’s rent wherever I end up living. In return, I promise to do regular Facebook updates during my time there, including anything I learn (and pictures!). Thanks in advance for your support!
