Help Mama Unufe See Olympic Son

Donation protected
My friend Leslie Kaaihue Unufe wants to see her son Maka Unufe play in the 2016 Summer Olympics!!

Here is Maka getting his Men's Eagles Sevens run on!

Maka Unufe has been playing fo the US Sevens Men's Rugby team since 2011. He will be playing this summer in the Olymics at Deodoro Stadium in Brazil!!! (IMUA!/ Let's go EAGLES!!)
Maka's mother Leslie has given her life to her family and community. So....let's send Leslie to the Olympics too! As a widowed mother of 6 living children and 9 grandkids, she has been doing the Parent Olympics!! It would be super awesome for her to watch her son play :)

Read more below about Leslie's love of her family and community, and stellar work ethic....

When Maka plays domestically, Leslie and family drive to support him in the stand. Here she is with sons (left to right)Maka, Havea, Keoki, and Kamehameha (with tongue out, of course! hahaha) behind her at this past Las Vegas 7's tournament.

I know Leslie because she volunteers as one of the leaders in the local Young Women program my daughter is in. I'm so thankful for the examples she and the other leaders set for my daughter Sweet. They give our Young Women opportunities to serve, and develop their talents and eternal identities. They also make sure to be a source of fun.

Leslie has her own large family of 7 children (1 lives in heaven).
Her eternal companion passed away but he is always in her heart.

Leslie has been committed to raising their family to be their best selves and to remember families are forever.

She is also the fun loving tutu/grandmother of 9 grandkids. This is Leslie with her own mom (see the good genes she inherited), and 7 of her 9 mo'opuna/grandkids.

Leslie works hard to provide for her two special needs sons Kamehameha and Keanu who live with her, and assist her other children and their families in their endeavors as all mothers and grandmothers do.

Here is Kamehameha with his Bronze Medal from the 2016  Special Olympics Volleyball tournament. He is always the ultimate competitor!

Here's Leslie dropping Keanu off at his stop in the morning as she heads to work at Honeybaked Ham. She says, "Yes, we are ALIVE and AWAKE!"

This the Honeybaked Ham crew getting ready for the rush last Thanksgiving.   (She let me work with her over Easter. Slinging 12 lb hams all day is no desk job!! But these wahine koa/ women warriors make it super fun! )

This is her son Keoki jumping with his companion and the neighborhood kids on his 2 year voluntary church service mission to Tonga.

Here' son Havea dadding at the water park :)

And finally, here is Leslie looking like an older sister to her daughter Chaunze and the daughters she gained when they married into the Kaaihue Unufe tribe.
She is so thankful for the work they do as mothers of their own growing families.

We know Maka's dad will be watching him play from heaven, help his mom see him play in person!
Go EAGLES! Your staunchest fan is coming!
