Mervin G, the sweetest man you would have ever met, needs some help. Or rather, I need your help to help him.
Over the course of his 77 years, he has been used and taken for granted over and over again.. he willingly gave his portion of his house to his wife in their divorce. He wanted her to be secure.
Merv has helped me and my family time and time again, for my whole life.. with anything my mom and I needed. Now that I live with him, he continues to make sure I'm okay and offers to help with anything I need. He's been taking care of me since I was a baby, and after I moved in with him when I was 16. He helped me out of the goodness of his heart.
I don't accept any help in the form of money anymore as I now have a full time job and I offer to help him now.
However, he and I were kicked out of his old house by his relative who owned half the house. They put money towards the house together but Merv never signed the lease legitimately so the co-owner completely screws him out of his share.
He was very depressed for about a year but in the last 2 years he has saved up enough money to feel secure. Not a lot but a little extra.
He should not have had to, he should be retired.
Today, a man called from "Canada Revenue" stating merv owned $4000, scared Merv so badly that he robbed him of $2000 before Merv caught on. The cops have been notified.
However, the money cannot be returned. My heart hurts for him.. that he has been screwed over and betrayed this many times in his life.. no matter how hard he personally tries to fix things for himself.
What I am asking of you, is if Merv has EVER helped you in a sticky spot, gave you advice or was a shoulder to cry on, gave you a drive or told you how great you are, to please donate anything to help give Merv a good worry-free Christmas.
He is the most deserving of this money than anyone I know.
