We are now in desperate need of donations. Marisa will soon be undergoing her 4th brain and spinal cord surgery to repair her condition of Arnold Chiari Malformation. She suffers from Type III.

"This is the most serious form of Chiari malformation. It involves the protrusion or herniation of the cerebellum and brain stem through the foramen magnum and into the spinal cord. This usually causes severe neurological defects. Type III is a rare type." ~WebMD

If the surgery isn't successful, the end result could be permanent paralysis in her body. Marisa has been battling this condition for 5 years, and so many attempts have been made to relieve her pain and suffering. We're hoping this next surgery will finally heal her. The surgery date is October 22nd.

Marisa's doctor is Dr. Rekate who is the director of The Chiari Institute in Great Neck, NY. As you can imagine, we have and will continue to incur overwhelming expenses: medical bills, multiple trips to and from Great Neck, lodging, etc.
