Dear Friends and Family,
As I continue through my freshman year of college I would like to take the time to update you on my successes and share an opportunity that has been offered to me by Global Sports Academy. I am currently a Business-Economics major at Randolph Macon College in Virginia and also a member of the Mens Basketball Team. In the recent years our team has had many successes such as 3 NCAA tournaments including a Sweet 16 appearance, and also 2 conference championships. With a track record like that it has helped me to gain opportunities globally. The Global Sports Academy, an organization that aims to promote international competition and goodwill has selected me to represent them on an East Coast All Star Team that will travel to Italy to compete at the end of May for 10 days.
This trip is an amazing possibility for me because it gives me a chance to experience basketball on a professional stage in another country. Also it gives me a chance to leave the country and experience other cultures and live a life that is different from ours here in America. Like many other collegiate students I wonder what type of job field would I be placed in? Once I obtain my degree, many opportunities will come about and in my hopes many of them will be in the sports management field. This trip will also give me the opportunity to clarify how sports management is organized globally. From the basketball perspective this trip gives me the opportunity to further showcase my talents on a global perspective. I will be playing against professional athletes in another country with hopes that an opportunity will be presented and I’ll be able to start my career of basketball. The chance to be able to play on a national stage is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I want to take advantage of. With that being said I will need your help.
