Our mission is to empower women and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse by providing them with a safe and supportive environment and through residential and non-residential programs and services.
Description
Osborne House is a non-profit organization providing short-term emergency shelter services for women and their children from all cultures, races, religions, age groups, income levels and sexual orientation, who are, or have been, experiencing physical, emotional or financial abuse.It is the largest shelter in Manitoba, the second oldest in Canada, and has been providing services to residents of the province and from other locations, for 35 years.
We provide emergency shelter for up to 30 days, a province-wide 24-hour crisis and information line, counseling programs for residents, programs for their children including counseling and a 5-day-a-week, on-site tutoring program for children in shelter ages 5-13, respite childcare, follow-up services, support groups, community outreach and education programs.
