At Cardero's restaurant located in Vancouver, B.C. we have a Busser named Peter. He's been with us for a long time and does the little things during our day shifts that we sometimes take for granted - Stocking our butter trays, bringing out bread, and managing the salt and peppershakers. Like a gentleman he always says hello to you in the morning and doesn't leave without a little handshake or fist bump on his way out.
Unfortunately there are people out there that like to take advantage of person with such a great nature. An individual that one can only describe as a con man convinced Peter to clear his credit card and hand over a cash advance of $5000. The promise was that he would invest the money and pay him back with interest. As this individual is a dishwasher by profession an investment and a payback was never in the cards, he took the money and ran. The part of this situation that is massively upsetting is that Peter is unable to make personal and financial decisions of this magnitude. He is extremely self sufficient with his day-to-day life, but this con man knew he was targeting someone he could take advantage of. Although the police and the banks have been involved since this came to light, the fact of the matter is that Peter will not be getting his money back. At a cash advance interest rate of 29.9% combined with the limited funds that Peter makes, he will most likely never be able to pay this off. This is where we come in. The goal of this GoFundMe page is to raise the $5000 that was taken from Peter and restore faith in humanity!
