Original Music for Larry Douglas' 80th!

In honor of Larry Douglas' 80th birthday, his daughters are commissioning an original piece of music, which will be composed by Paul Erwin. The new musical selection will be premiered in October, 2014 by the Casco Bay Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Peter Martin, at Gorham High School in Gorham, Maine.
Larry is a life-long musician and music educator. Born, raised, and educated in the Midwest, Larry's primary instruments are euphonium and trombone. Larry started his musical career as a member of the United States Army Band, then moved to teaching in Ohio, but finally found his home in Maine. A lifelong member of professional, semi-professional, and community band organizations, Larry was most recently a member of the Casco Bay Concert Band.

*Composer Paul Erwin resides in Vermont; his compositions and arrangements are primarily for winds, especially wind quintet and concert band, although he has created music for many different ensembles, both large and small. *In the event that the total donations exceed that cost of the commission and his birthday celebration, we have asked Larry to designate one or more organizations that support public music education so that a contribution can be made in his honor.
*The premier will be on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3:00pm at Gorham High School, Gorham, Maine.
*Please note that a small percent of donations made through GoFundMe go to support the company itself.
