It's hard for us to believe in these contemporary times that we, the Church, continue to discriminate against others in our faith communities. The worst part is that while we discriminate we profess unconditional, authentic love of neighbor. This inconsistency is more than hypocritical; it's cruel and abusive. And it must end.
Through our work via extraordinary ordinations, The Church Within A Church Movement (CWACM) seeks to end such discrimination. CWACM clergy actively create welcoming space for everyone in their local communities, BEing the fully inclusive church today.
On Saturday, June 6, 2015, we will ordain dr. candi dugas in Metro Atlanta, GA during The Invitation: An Extraordinary Ordination Experience, celebrating candi's ministry of 20 years. A graduate of Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, GA), Gammon Seminary/Interdenominational Theological Center (Atlanta, GA) and The University of Florida (Gainesville, FL), candi meets people where they are. She engages us in creative, reflective and meaningful experiences to help us reach our goals - from deepening faith-/belief-based relationships to self-discovery to breaking cycles of financial poverty.
