So here is the deal... My mom was told today that her liver can no longer handle any more chemotherapy and that there is nothing else they can do for her. Her doctor said it is now time to think about hospice. My mom is not ready to give up her fight to cancer and we are not ready to lose her. There is a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico called Hope 4 Cancer and they treat cancer with various different holistic methods and have several success stories with patients in similar situations as my mom. The problem is the hefty price tag required upfront for their treatment. We had a consultation with them today and they came up with a special treatment plan for my mom totaling $36,000 and the possibility of an additional $7,000. We are asking for your help to raise this money and give my mom a second chance at life. This is our only hope and we want to try everything to save her life. UPDATE: Change of plans.... after thinking and reviewing all of our options, we decided staying local would be the best situation at this time. We decided we are going to take my mom to EuroMed which is located here in AZ. They approach cancer treatment similarly to the clinic in Mexico. We had a consultation with them today, had the last 10 years of my moms cancer history (scans, blood work, previous treatments) sent over and the doctor there reviewed them and said he believes her cancer will respond well to their treatments. Her first appointment is on Thursday (5/7) at 8AM. We do not know the total cost yet... that will be discussed Thursday (estimated to be similar to the costs of the Mexico clinic).
