I am writing this on behalf of my granddaughter Kylie. Kylie suffered from a condition called metabolic syndrom and PCOS all conditions which will eventually lead to heart disease, pre diabetes, high blood pressure etc. Her only left option to fix the weight issue, after many failed attemts and tons of money spent was to have a weight loss surgery, a fairly simple surgery which should have only been an over night stay. Little did we know the amount of complications she would run into.
Kylies plan was that she would be out of work for 2 weeks, a normal healing time for a surgery. She has now been out of work for 4 months, during this time she has also been NPO . Absolutley nothing by mouth because she was found to have a leak 2 weeks post op surgery. She is now on her 3rd hospital stay with many in between emergency room visits because of infected PICC lines, and 104.6 f
evers.
I am just looking for enough money to keep her head above the water and make times a little less stressful for her. She is a college student putting everything on hold, because she can't phsically work because of prlonged hospital stays and unexpected surgeries. Her dream is to become a bariatric doctor in hopes to help others who are suffering from the same debilitating syndrome.
I would normally never ask for help but this has been financially draning for the whole family because she is 4 hours away in the hospital, making it difficult for everyone to see her because of all the expenses that come with traveling ( food, hotel, cars, gas). Luckyily, she has had her mom there with her 24/7 with an overwhelming amount of support. Through all of this, when all of us would have fallen apart, Kylie has stayed so strong and positive, but now that she is out of money, and has bills ran up, she now needs all the help she can get.
If you feel it in your heart, no amount is too little. I know Kylie will appreciate it, and I certanitly will too, for she is my little sweetie pie.
