Help Support Kristen Olinger in Her Fight Against Breast Cancer

Our beloved colleague and friend, Kristen Olinger, was recently diagnosed with Stage 3c breast cancer. This aggressive form of cancer requires immediate and intensive treatment—but it is curable, and Kristen is ready to fight with everything she has.

Starting this week, Kristen will begin a 24-week chemotherapy regimen—weekly treatments for the first 12 weeks, followed by treatments every three weeks for the next 12. After completing chemo and a 6-week recovery period, she will undergo surgery to remove any remaining cancer.

Kristen has already begun sharing this journey with her students and colleagues with the same grace, strength, and honesty that she brings to her work every day. She will be away from school every Thursday and Friday through the end of the year to focus on treatment and healing.
