Making Salvador's house accessible!

INDIVIDUAL FRIEND NEED:  Viamistad is sponsoring a life-changing construction project THIS WEEK to benefit our friend, Salvador, from Santiago Atitlan.  

Salvador has been coming to camp for two years.  He is in his 40's, has cerebral palsy, and has spent his life in his house; he did not leave at all until about 5 years ago when he began sitting on the corner once a week asking for donations.   He lives with his elderly parents who provide full care, and worry about his future.

Although he recently acquired an electric wheelchair donated from a non-profit organization, he cannot get out of his bed or his house without help.  


This week, we are going to move a bathroom that is blocking Salvador's way in and out, and build ramps, enabling him for the first time to be able to come and go, move around the house and use the bathroom, by himself.

The building project will take a week with a crew of about 5 people.  3 of the 5 workers each day will be volunteers.  We would like to be able to raise the funds by the end of the project, May 29.


Please help fund this effort.  All donations go directly towards hiring the project leader and materials.

This project will make a huge difference for a person with a beautiful heart and a very difficult situation.
