Keep Jane’s Daughter Safe

My friend and her daughter– we’ll call them Jane and Sue – managed to leave Sue’s abusive biological father some years ago. Even now, Jane fears for her and Sue’s safety should he find out about this fundraiser.
Jane has worked hard to provide for her daughter, despite starting from next to nothing, and despite Sue’s father ignoring all child support orders. Even a fraction of the money could’ve made a difference for them both… But as long as Sue was safe, she’d manage.
The system won’t let him continue ignoring the orders, he has filed a lawsuit against them for full custody to avoid having to pay child support. Understandably, Jane is terrified. So am I.
Sue’s biological father is totally unwilling to negotiate – there’s only one way he keeps his money, and that’s the only way he’ll accept – so the case will certainly go to court.
Jane’s attorney estimates the legal fees to fight this will (optimistically) come to around $8500.00. Jane works long, hard hours, and she simply can’t afford that kind of expense. Neither can she afford to lose her daughter to their abuser.
