Hello!
My name is Katie Schneider and I was recently accepted into the Loop Abroad College Veterinary Service trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand this summer June 16th- July 9th 2018.

During this service trip I will help care for rescue dogs and sanctuary elephants of whom have been saved from abuse and neglect situations and are in need of love and medical treatment. I will be learning how to care for them while gaining invaluable hands-on experiences, and learning what being a veterinarian entails from American and localThai veterinarians.
I would love to be able to take advantage of this once in a life time opportunity which could steer my educational path towards veterinarian school in the future.
This trip would mean so much to me. I have never been out of the United States and I believe experiencing other cultures, working with animals (especially ones that I am not familiar with) are important in understanding ourselves and the people we interact with on a daily basis.
Working with elephants and dogs in Thailand is an amazing opportunity that does not come along very often. I would regret not being able to experience this amazing service opportunity because I cannot come up with the funds. I am contributing as much of my own money I can towards this trip which is around $500 right now.

Expense Break Down
Deposit -$2350 -->This reserves my spot in the program and ultimately is also part of the total tuition. Ideally this would be in as soon as possible to guarantee a spot in the program.
Tuition-$2850 --> This is the rest of the tuition that includes all meals, boarding, in-country travel and activities such as ziplining through a Thai forest. Tuition funds needs to be in by April 1st, 2018
Airfare- $1779 --> This is the round trip international airfare from JFK airport to Chiang Mai and from Chiang Mai to JFK airport. I will be traveling with the Loop Abroad student group. The ticket needs to be purchased before May 7th, 2018

Hotel- $120 --> For the overnight stay with Loop Abroad near JFK to catch early morning Thailand flight the next day.
