I'm Karen Stevens, a single mother, disabled retired, and a long time activist for a better future for all Americans.
This year I am honored to have been elected to represent my Congressional District as a Bernie Sanders delegate (CD26) to the Democratic National Convention. This will take place in Philadelphia from July 25th-July 28th, 2016.
I am eager to go and take a stand in representing the interests of the 99% at the Convention in fighting for Bernie, yet I desperately need your help in doing so.
The costs associated with this journey are YUGE, including a hotel stay at a DNC "negotiated rate" hotel for $700 per night. The hotel stay is required due to the need for communication with the campaign and availability each morning to receive our credentials for voting.
For Congressional members and lobbyists, this may not be an issue, however to the average 99%'r, the costs of convention participation for delegates challenges our participation.
The funds I am requesting will cover a portion of the airfare, hotel stay, meals, and transportation in town.
Your support is crucial to my successful journey to the DNC in Philadelphia. The convention is rapidly approaching and funds are needed quickly.
If you could spare even a small amount, that would help me further toward my goal of getting to the DNC convention in Philadelphia.
