Matt & Kara (parents of 4 children under 5 years old) were excited to finally close on their purchase of a home in Overland Park and start their life here with lots of fresh hope.
Moving from Nashville, in the Fall of 2017, they were hampered by several delays in selling their home there. Finally, they had enough funds to purchase a home in Kansas City where Matt found his new job.
However, on January 25th, 2018, in the insidious manner of wire fraud, they were tricked into send their down-payment to a fraudulent bogus bank account not associated with their closing. Horrendously, they wired funds of $67,000... gone and not retrievable.
After selling all their personal items & furniture in Nashville, they were able to still use their furniture funds and still purchased the home, but this left them with little money to purchase any furniture.
They have mattresses & a couch. And, Yes. They have shelter, but they have no funds for furniture to build upon their this new life in KC.
They are very humble people and this event, although catastrophic to this young family, they have lived with less.
Anything you can give would be a blessing as they begin to move in the home around Valentine's Weekend 2018.
