Help Protect St. Lucia's Wildlife

Donation protected
**The trip is over and what a success! Thank you to all who donated!!**
Flora and Fauna International and Kentucky Reptile Zoo have teamed up to help save St. Lucia's endemic lancehead viper. This snake is found only on the island nation of St. Lucia.
Because the snake is venomous and can be dangerous if it bites a person, training Forestry personnel to move the snakes safely is an important part of the conservation program. By moving snakes that may show up in unwanted places, the Forestry Department can keep the snakes safe from the people and the people safe from the snake! This is a win-win for both sides and will help people live more comfortably with this native snake.
Kentucky Reptile Zoo staff will travel to St. Lucia on January 20, 2016. The flights have already been generously donated. Also already on the donation list are supplies of grabsticks and buckets, but they still have to be shipped to St. Lucia as they are too large to carry on the plane. This gofundme is to raise money to ship these supplies, provide additional handouts to students of the training, and to cover incidental costs of travel.
Funds donated to this will not go into the general funds for KRZ but will be used exclusively for the St. Lucia program.
